Coach Marissa has been pitching for eight years and is a sophomore at Waldorf College in Iowa, where she pitches for the Varsity Softball Team. In the 2012 season out of 25 games she pitched in she struck out 75 batters. She attended Neuqua Valley High School and was a starting pitcher there for three years, being named Defensive MVP twice in her career. In her Junior year, she threw a perfect game with 13 strike outs vs. Joliet Township. She has played for several travel teams, most recently the Downers Grove Outlaws, where she was the starting pitcher there as well. Marisa has put on pitching camps and also been giving pitching lessons at Eich’s for several years. In addition to pitching, Marissa gives hitting, and fielding instructions, her specialties include Middle Infield and Outfield.
Marissa throws around 60 mph and has 6 different pitches: fastball, change-up, screw ball, curve ball, drop ball, and a rise ball.
Marissa’s main goals are to encourage strong fundamentals, instill confidence, and develop movement of pitches in combination with speed & power.
